Small Steps

Congratulations! You’re engaged! You know what that means? IT’S PARTY TIME!!

Engagement parties are a special part of your journey to your way down the aisle. People will want to congratulate you and you will want to show off that ring!

For an engagement party, you will want to consider who is hosting, the guest list, the venue, dress code, gifts and the list goes on. But lets concentrate on the small & important steps first.

Traditionally the soon to be bride’s parents will look after the engagement party, they will choose the venue, plan the catering and the dress code however if you are not traditional and prefer to host the party yourself then go for it!

The Guest List

Unlike a birthday party, an engagement party is more personal. Start your list off with the names of your closest friends and family, also consider who you want to see attending your big day.

The Venue

Consider a venue that will look after you! The last thing you need is to be stressed. So when you are on the hunt for venues read the reviews. Venues with smaller rooms are great as you don’t feel you are running around looking for people you invited. If you plan to theme your engagement party consider a venue that will suit your chosen dress code.

Dress Code

Black tie or black and white themes are very popular. Usually the soon to be bride and groom would wear a different colour amongst the rest to stand out.

Think about the gifts you and your partner would like together, as a couple. Another great gift idea is a wishing well. Put the money towards your honeymoon or the house you have bought. If you decide on a wishing well, mention it on your invites and the reason.
